How amazing is it that selecting an actual scientist to head the Department of Energy is actually "groundbreaking " news? It just goes to show how much our country lost its way under George W. Bush for the last 8 years. Stephen Chu will have a lot of work to do to get us back on track in terms of funding physical science research, combating climate change and instituting President Elect Barack Obama's energy policy, but his resume suggests that he should be more than up for the job. Of course its more important to our mainstream media that we find out how many calls Rahm Emanuel had with Rod Blagojevich but I for one am very encouraged with this particular appointment.
