I Started Small Time Dope Game Cocaine

Straight out of Texas the Geto Boys put out instant classics on every single album. I had to throw up a couple of Brad Jordan aka Scarface single projects also. These were the pioneers of rap in the south.

  1. Classics. We used to play these on contraband Walkmans in junior high. Whatever happened to Bushwick Bill aka Shorty the Pimp?

I wouldn't say I "outgrew" rap so much as I just stopped finding time to do more than turn on the radio from time to time... and hated most of what Clear Channel threw at me (over and over again). Luckily the Houston stations have a tiny sliver of local flavor left, but even then, I'm way behind the times. Plus with kids, it's easier just to put on the classic r&b station.

To be honest with you, I have kids too and we get lots of easy listening when they are in the car. I must admit that I am not into it like I used to be, but now I just find the music on youtube when I am on the computer and want to a listen to rap. Its not the same thing but it makes me feel like I am still in the game lol.

The last thing I heard about Bushwick Bill was when he lost his eye. I am sure he is lurking around somewhere.
