Pro Bowl Snubs

The Pro Bowl rosters were just released and overall I believe the selections were all valid there are a couple of snubs that I would like to point out.

Bradie James has played out of his mind this year. I like John Beason but he is no Bradie James. James is the quarterback on a Defense that is ranked higher, and he has 6 sacks to Beason's none. A good case could definitely be made for Beason but I just think James was the better linebacker this year.

Chad Pennington has better numbers than Brett Favre and he has led the Dolphins who won all of 1 game last year to the same record as Favre and his Jets. The fact that the Jets released Pennington to make room for Favre makes this a particularly egregious snub in my opinion.

John Abraham got straight hosed. He has more sacks than ANY of the Defensive Ends picked ahead of him and he is third in the league in sacks right now. And lest we forget his Falcons are still contending for a playoff spot. There are no explanations for this one other than the fact that people vote reputation more so than accomplishments now a days.

Ronnie Brown is 21st in the league in rushing. WTF??!! Steve Slaton should be PISSED right now. I mean he comes in and tears it up as a rookie, his numbers are right behind Pro Bowl starter Chris Johnson's and he loses out to a guy who isn't even in the top tenth of the league in rushing? All I can say is wow.

I am sure there are others who feel one of their guys were snubbed so let your voices be heard.

  1. I sort of disagree with you on the Abraham deal. Ok he has more sacks than all those guys but 1. he doesn't have waay more & 2. he got less tackles than all those guys too.

  2. Defensive Ends get paid to sack the QB. Look at Freeney's tackle numbers. Check out Peppers tackle numbers from last year then look back at how much the media was dumping on him for having a bad year. Abraham got hosed. There has probably never been a time in history where a guy got 15 sacks and didnt make the pro bowl. Seriously.

  3. Thanks for the props/nod towards Abraham. Many of us true Atlantans feel this year may be as special if not moreso than the Super Bowl year of 1998. Abraham has been the leader of the D; this snub, and that is exactly what's going down, is atrocious. BTW, nice to see the most prolific blogger commenter with his own place. See you around.
