That's A Big Ass Difference

I still vividly remember right wingers gloating over the fact that the news outlets were reporting that the Million Man March did not number a million people. Most outlets did have estimates well over half a million but the sheer fact that it was promoted as a Million Man March primarily geared towards African American men and it didn't actually reach a million people was seen as something to be embarrassed about by the wingnut crowd.

Well I wonder what the hell they have to say about this:

Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, the group that organized the event, said on stage at the rally that ABC News was reporting that 1 million to 1.5 million people were in attendance.

At no time did ABC News, or its affiliates, report a number anywhere near as large. ABCNews.com reported an approximate figure of 60,000 to 70,000 protesters, attributed to the Washington, D.C., fire department. In its reports, ABC News Radio described the crowd as "tens of thousands."

Yeah, check how many rubes mistook less than 100,000 for 1 million. I wonder if they will laugh and mock all the teabaggers for such a meager turnout even on a weekend when presumably nobody had to work.

LOL I think its the site redesign. I am guessing the wingnuts couldn't make sense out of the white on black background. Or maybe it just went against their racialist beliefs lol. Either way there has been an uptick in ignorant uniformed comments of late but I guess they don't realize that when I get their click throughs I win :)

And of course they are always anonymous. But hey its when they stop caring enough to leave barely coherent self promoting comments is when I feel like I should start worrying lmaooo.

  5. I read this blog EVERY day, and I was wondering when you would be found out by the haters. Herenton should step aside. I actually had a chance to speak with Cohen on a flight from DC to Memphis after my father died, and he actually knew him. I gave him my card, and I received a note stating how sorry he was for my loss. Cohen is as progressive as they come, and I am holding out hope that Herenton is not elected simply because he is black. Memphis needs him in Washington, like I need a hole in my head. Oh, keep up the good work hometown, We love the blog.

  6. Thanks Alan, I appreciate all the support!

And we are totally on the same page about Herenton. The one thing I didn't point out in the post is that this guy resigned as mayor and now the city is forced to pay about a million dollars that it doesn't have for a special election and this fool is actually going to run for Mayor again. If that is confusing to you trust me it should be.
