I just love framed the debate into one where the Republicans are advocating laying off teachers, police officers, and firefighters. For one, by their actions, its the absolute truth that Republicans are blocking funding for keeping teachers,cops, and firemen at their job. And for two, it brings the argument home to the regular folks out there watching. Yeah, everybody complains about "pork" and earmarks, right up until they find out that the "pork" they are opposing helps keeps cops on the street and teachers at their jobs.

On the other hand Claire McCaskill who I loved during the Presidential campaign was as about as useful as tits on a bull in this conversation. Sorry but it had to be said
