Are some Conservatives really going to try to change the Word of God to fit their own worldview? Seriously?!

    You misunderstand - of course they're not going to "change the Word of God to fit their own worldview"! That would be both wrong and blasphemous. They're simply going to return it to what it obviously originally was before generations of liberals and heretics warped it out of all recognition (and maybe just clean it up a little to remove the complicated bits that those hippies kept putting in).

    Excellent! Then my work here is done. Actually, that says less about my ability to channel religious insanity than it does about just how mainstream religious insanity has become. I sometimes wonder, looking at the the wild-eyed Jewish, Islamic and Christian right, who it is that they speak for. In Abrahamaic religious terms, who is it that foments hatred and death at every opportunity?
