Only the next time can we put this ad out BEFORE the Republicans put theirs out? Damn I'm tired of playing defense...

Shots Fired!
Excellent attack ad on GOP hypocrisy over the Stimulus Bill. One thing about it though is Democrats have to learn to start using scarier music. Sets the mood a bit better lol. Still, damn good in my opinion.

No More Money For The DNC
Tim Kaine is obviously in over his head and or wants to try to transform the Democratic Party into his personal image. There can be no other excuse for why he would hand over $500,000 to anti health care, anti choice advocate Ben Nelson to run ads where he BRAGS about basically killing health care when he isn't up for reelection for 3 more years.
If you still give money to the DNC after this, you are basically working AGAINST the Democratic platform.

"No Bed Wetting"
David Plouffe has penned an op-ed to be run tomorrow in the Washington Post, giving great direction to Democrats on how they should handle governing and compaigning until the midterm elections in November. I have a somewhat radical proposition. Why not make Plouffe the DNC chairman? I think I am going to spread this around....
Here was the most salient part of his advice in my honest opinion.

-- No bed-wetting. This will be a tough election for our party and for many Republican incumbents as well. Instead of fearing what may happen, let's prove that we have more than just the brains to govern -- that we have the guts to govern. Let's fight like hell, not because we want to preserve our status, but because we sincerely believe too many everyday Americans will continue to lose if Republicans and special interests win.

Campaigning For Dummies
Steve Benen has a very useful primer on how to win elections. I suggest every Democrat, especially Tim Kaine, pick it up and learn it verbatim.
I say especially Tim Kaine because the truth is as much shit as we talk about RNC Chairman Michael Steele, if he had lost the races that Kaine has already lost he would have been tossed out on his ass. I have to wonder why Kaine has gotten a pass so far. And no, this isn't on some racial shit. This is on some INCOMPETENCE shit.

Michele Bachmann's Perfect Record
The DNC wasn't playing about calling folks out. I expected that a video calling out Michele Bachmann might be a little too long for a youtube clip but I think they did a good job of pulling it off.

Fired Up, Ready To Go!
The DNC is coming out with an ad meant to fire up the base of the Democratic Party (see liberals and progressives). Seeing as how it doesn't touch on the public option at all I am a little skeptical, but I do like that chant.
Fired up!
Ready to go!

The Great Pumpkin Is Gonna Be Pissed
John Boehner can't be happy about this new DNC attack ad.
The best thing about it is they have the same ad basically set up for other prominent House Republicans as well. The angry old white men aren't going to be too happy to hear that the Rethugs are trying to kill their MediCare. It will be interesting to see if it has any effect on the health care reform debate.

DNC Kisses Cheney
Nice to see somebody touching this fool up. I'll have a post up on Cheney and a lie he told awhile back that still bothers me before the night is over.

What They Aren't Showing You
The DNC has put together a video of local coverage of different townhalls that were relatively calm and respectful to drive home the point that cable news shows are really only showing one side of the story to gin up interest.

Can I Haz More Attack Ads Pleez?
I fashion myself and ideas person. In particular I like checking out attack ads and trying to decipher if they are persuasive and effective or not. I will check out Republican ads as well as Democratic ads and the truth is the Republicans still have a definite edge over us when it comes to attack ads. Some of that is their willingness to play fast and loose with the facts. And some of it is that they just seem to "get it" about wht strikes a nerve with people.
Well yesterday on Greg Sargent's The Plum Line blog I made a couple of suggestions about ads that should be made. Here is one of the comments I left.
Now to be sure I am not in any way shape or form trying to take any credit for this new DNC ad but I FOR DAMN SURE endorse it!
This web ad is everything you want. Its cheap because it just uses archived footage, no voice over or anything. Its powerful because you are using people's own voices and own quotes. And its a major contrast between what President Obama and the "good guys" are trying to do and what Rush Limbaugh, Jim DeMint and the "bad guys" are trying to do.
Seriously DNC, great frikkin job for a change.
Can we get more like this please?!

Again, easy easy easy add. Show part of one of President Obama’s speeches where he emphasizes helping the people then replay that clip then go to other Democratic leaders and their quotes about helping the american people and keep going back to DeMint’s quote and then at the end “Do you want someone reforming healthcare that is focused on you or someone who is focusing on partisan politics?” Fade to black. I am sure if I could think of that in 2 minutes that some bright Dem pol can come up with something a helluva lot better in a day or so. And it wouldn’t even cost that much to make. Hell its all right there for you.
