Why does Republican Senator Jim DeMint want to hinder our ability to keep airline passengers safe by putting a hold on President Obama's nominee to head the TSA?
Its because he hates America of course, and is soft on terrorism, and is an appeaser....yadda yadda yadda.
Seriously, where is our liberal version of Pete Hoekstra out there pounding this dumbass into submission?

Racial Stereotypes As Praise
I am going to make a prediction here. These two South Carolina GOP bozos who used a racial stereotype about Jewish people to try to heap praise on Senator Jim DeMint in an op-ed will NOT be apologizing anytime soon.
I wouldn't be surprised if they say they are the victim in fact. When it happens remember that I predicted it here first. Such is the state of the Republican Party these days.

Let's Be Clear Here, This Is DEFINITELY Treason
I know and understand that treason is a strong word but what Senator Jim DeMint is trying to do to undermine our country's foreign policy fits pretty much exactly into that category. I almost want them to allow him to go to Honduras just so he can be arrested as soon as he gets back state side. This is what you call going too far.

Can I Haz More Attack Ads Pleez?
I fashion myself and ideas person. In particular I like checking out attack ads and trying to decipher if they are persuasive and effective or not. I will check out Republican ads as well as Democratic ads and the truth is the Republicans still have a definite edge over us when it comes to attack ads. Some of that is their willingness to play fast and loose with the facts. And some of it is that they just seem to "get it" about wht strikes a nerve with people.
Well yesterday on Greg Sargent's The Plum Line blog I made a couple of suggestions about ads that should be made. Here is one of the comments I left.
Now to be sure I am not in any way shape or form trying to take any credit for this new DNC ad but I FOR DAMN SURE endorse it!
This web ad is everything you want. Its cheap because it just uses archived footage, no voice over or anything. Its powerful because you are using people's own voices and own quotes. And its a major contrast between what President Obama and the "good guys" are trying to do and what Rush Limbaugh, Jim DeMint and the "bad guys" are trying to do.
Seriously DNC, great frikkin job for a change.
Can we get more like this please?!

Again, easy easy easy add. Show part of one of President Obama’s speeches where he emphasizes helping the people then replay that clip then go to other Democratic leaders and their quotes about helping the american people and keep going back to DeMint’s quote and then at the end “Do you want someone reforming healthcare that is focused on you or someone who is focusing on partisan politics?” Fade to black. I am sure if I could think of that in 2 minutes that some bright Dem pol can come up with something a helluva lot better in a day or so. And it wouldn’t even cost that much to make. Hell its all right there for you.

Oops Up Side Ya Head
Remember this recent statement from wingnut Republican Senator Jim DeMint?
Well today the NRSC apparently took a shot at DeMint in their statement defending their endorsement of Florida Governor Charlie Crist in the Senate race next year.
OUCH. Obviously them using the number 30 was not just a coincidence. At this rate Democrats won't have any work to do next year, the GOP will have done all the attacking for them.
“I would rather have 30 Republicans in the Senate who really believe in principles of limited government, free markets, free people, than to have 60 that don’t have a set of beliefs.”

“The Republican Party is a big tent party that welcomes different points of view. Obviously there is a small group of folks who would prefer to see 30 ‘pure’ Republican Senators with a litmus test for candidates. They’re certainly welcome to that viewpoint. We’re focused on rebuilding the party, winning elections and ultimately regaining the Majority so that bills like card check never see the light of day.”

Jim DeMint Is An Idiot
Check out Senator Jim DeMint's statement on school kids in Washington D.C.
Please understand that Senator DeMint hails from one of the worst states in the union when it comes to public education and needless to say he was WAY off base.
The GOP just keeps on trying to expand that big tent don't they?

"If you send a kid to [public] school in D.C., chances are that they will end up in a gang rather than graduating."
Please understand that Senator DeMint hails from one of the worst states in the union when it comes to public education and needless to say he was WAY off base.
For the record, DCPS has about a 70 percent graduation rate, which is on par with the national average.
DeMint was arguing in favor of preserving the D.C. Opportunity Scholarships program, an experimental voucher program in the District which is in danger of being killed by language in a Democrat-authored spending bill. (The bill was blocked by Senate Republicans last night, but will likely proceed next week.)
Naturally, the D.C. Council was not pleased. Yvette Alexander (Ward 7) basically called DeMint an idiot: "He has no sense of what D.C. has to offer making statements like that ... If someone outside of [the District] is to make a gross misjudgment like that one, he should keep his comments to himself," she told the Times. Phil Mendelson (D-At Large), defending the District, said, "I'm a public school parent. My daughter is in third grade, and she is not likely to be a gang member." (However, he did damage his creditability somewhat by bizarrely adding, "I am quite pleased with the public school system." That's a pretty tough stance to defend.)
The GOP just keeps on trying to expand that big tent don't they?

More Of This Please!
I know he is a busy man, but can we get Barney Frank on more talking head shows to punch the Republicans in the mouth with their own talking points? Sheesh.
