When it comes to going after incumbent Republicans or races where the seat is up for grabs, please please please Democratic establishment, just let them eat their own and then sweep in to take the seat. The only way we can fuck up the election next year is if we make ourselves targets of both the establishment GOP and the wingnut/teabagger factions. Otherwise they will beat themselves into oblivion and whomever emerges will be so far to the right as to scare average people. We dont need do anything other than watch, maybe giggle a little, and let nature take its course...

TAMPA - An increasingly fractious challenge to the Republican Party from its own conservative base could relegate the party to indefinite minority status, some Republicans fear.

It's showing up in the form of conservative primary challengers against candidates blessed by the party establishment - a strange phenomenon in a party known for tightly controlled, wait-your-turn politics.

Some Republicans fear the divisive primaries could leave GOP voters divided and dispirited, or push to the party so far right it alienates mainstream voters.

"If you tried to devise a strategy for destroying the Republican Party in Florida, you couldn't do much better than this," said retired University of South Florida political scientist Darryl Paulson, a Republican and a former Heritage Foundation fellow.

"The kind of narrow appeal they're offering would almost guarantee Republicans would become the minority party in Florida," Paulson said.

You See He's A Racist Because He Calls Out Racism

In the wingnut bizarro world the ONLY racists in the country right now are all minorities. Oh they will concede that racism exists in theory, but bring up specific racists like say Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck and they will argue you down that they have "never heard them say anything racist". Hell even supposed centrist white people on the left will stick up for the Limbaughs of the world, probably because they spend part of their day listening to his invective as a guilty pleasure. But you let a strong person stand up and call out white racists and racism against our first black President and you just watch to see people step up to demean and bismirch them.

The culprit this time is former President Jimmy Carter.

Now if there was ever a white man qualifed to talk about racism its Jimmy Carter. I mean the guy was the governor of Georgia during the tail end of the Civil Rights era for goodness sake. And yet he has committed the crime of saying something so emmintently true and reasonable as to make other white folks uncomfortable. He had the temerity to say that a lot of the opposition and vitriol towards President Obama, including Joe Wilson's outburst, are rooted in racism. After we have seen pictures of the President photoshopped with a bone through his nose, emails circulated with all kind of racist invective like a watermelon patch outside of the WhiteHouse and the racist ignorance spewed about President Obama's daughters at freerepublic how can anyone possibly refute President Carter on this?

And yet they will. Oh mark my words they will. Hell Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski on Morning Joe this morning pushed back hard on President Carter's words even though they work with an avowed racist, Pat Buchanan, several times a week. It is what it is.

So just know that President Carter is in for a rough couple of weeks. And when you boil it all down its all because he decided to tell the truth. Doing so is heresy now in this upside down culture of ours.

Here is a test you can give to anyone to determine if you can have an honest debate with them about racism. If they won't admit that Rush Limbaugh is a racist then you should probably just move alone. Seriously, just try it, it works every time.

Bump What You Heard, Give Me James Carville ANY DAY!!!

I know a lot of the people who support President Obama aren't too keen on James Carville but I am so over that primary bullshit from last year. And I can tell you one thing, if you want somebody to push a Democratic agenda aggressively and make wingnuts look foolish, there ain't nobody in the game better than Carville. With something as simple as treating this teabagger like the clown he is, Carville gives rational Republicans a choice. Either they can roll with clown ass idiots like Mark Williams, or they can pump their breaks and try to figure out what is really going on here.

Oh and props to Anderson Cooper for calling Williams out for his vitriolic racist comments about President Obama!

CNBC Goes Looking For Trouble

Its bad enough that CNBC is peddling bullshit financial commentary, but now they are trying to frame the news on townhalls to portray health care reform as unpopular.

CNBC approached Tea Party activists, looking for angry protest events that would make good television, according to a leaked email from a Tea Party discussion group. And one Tea Bagger responded by flagging an upcoming event that, he said, "should be a riot ... literally."

Yesterday, Tea Party Patriots national coordinator Jenny Beth Martin sent an email, obtained by TPMmuckraker, to a Tea Party google group. Martin told the group: "We have a media request for an event this week that will have lots of energy and lots of anger. This is for CNBC."

She then asked: "So, where are the big events this week and where can TPP best be represented on the news?"

Late Update: Martin tells TPMmuckraker that she did not forward the Scott event -- or, in fact, any event -- on to CNBC as a candidate for coverage. She stressed that her group "does not endorse anything that incites violence of any kind," adding that the email list is un-moderated. "I can't moderate every single comment," she said.

Asked whether CNBC had specifically told her they were looking for an event with "lots of energy and lots of anger," Martin replied: "That was the impression that I received from them." She declined to elaborate.

Now lets see if the media will call out these cretins or if they will cover for them each other as usual. Major props to TPM for breaking the story!
