Lindsey Graham Cares About Black People!!!

Because we are all poor....and on Medicaid...or something...

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Please please please understand that while it might have been Lindsey Graham talking this time, this is the same mindset of many southern Republicans and even some southern "conservative" Democrats. He was just stupid enough to actually articulate it for the world to hear.

Do better dumbasses

Bump What You Heard, Give Me James Carville ANY DAY!!!

I know a lot of the people who support President Obama aren't too keen on James Carville but I am so over that primary bullshit from last year. And I can tell you one thing, if you want somebody to push a Democratic agenda aggressively and make wingnuts look foolish, there ain't nobody in the game better than Carville. With something as simple as treating this teabagger like the clown he is, Carville gives rational Republicans a choice. Either they can roll with clown ass idiots like Mark Williams, or they can pump their breaks and try to figure out what is really going on here.

Oh and props to Anderson Cooper for calling Williams out for his vitriolic racist comments about President Obama!

Everybody Is A Fuckin Comedian Now

This kind of shit is getting to be all too common.

BOISE -- Rex Rammell, Republican candidate for Idaho governor, says his comments about "Obama tags" are not a big deal, but he apologizes if people think he wants the president assassinated.

The Twin Falls Times News reports that during during a discussion on wolves Tuesday night at a local Republican party event, an audience member shouted a question about "Obama tags."

According to the newspaper, Rammell responded: "The Obama tags? We'd buy some of those."

Rammell, a veterinarian and former elk rancher from Rexburg, told Times News reporter Jared Hopkins his comment was a joke and he would never seriously talk about President Obama that way, although he doesn't support anything Obama's done as president.

"I was just being sarcastic. That was just a joke," Rammell told the paper. "I would never support him being assassinated. "She kind of caught me off guard, to be honest with you."

snip

Nobody we talked to found kidding about hunting tags for the president of The United States very humorous, and Rammell told CBS 2: "If people read into my comments I would want him assassinated then I apologize for that. That was not the intent of my comment."

Classic non apology apology. These bastards don't deserve to ever lead this country again.

Nope, Nothing Racist About That...

Great White Hope eh?

The Topeka Capitol-Journal reports that freshman Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) told a town hall meeting a week ago that the GOP still had to find a "great white hope."

"Republicans are struggling right now to find the great white hope," said Jenkins. "I suggest to any of you who are concerned about that, who are Republican, there are some great young Republican minds in Washington." As examples, Jenkins mentioned Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI).

I can't wait till Congresswoman Jenkins rolls out her 2 or 3 "black friends" to prove she isn't a racist. She is now on the clock.

You Ain't Gonna Believe This Shit

Last week this asshole Republican Congressman Todd Tiahrt stood on the floor of the house and insinuated that President Obama and Justice Clarence Thomas, both black men and the only people he referred to, might have been aborted had there been tax payer funded abortions available to their mothers when they were concieved. It was a fucked up and reprehensible thing for anybody to say let alone a sitting Congressman.

Now you might think that the GOP establishment would try to distance themselves from Tiahart's remarks if not condemn them outright.

And you would be wrong.

Greg Sargent reports that the YouTube clip of Tiahrt giving the speech has now been posted up on the official GOP blog. But Sargent throws in this caveat.

Not to go too far out on a limb, but maybe this means the House GOP doesn’t see any need to distance itself from the remarks…

The only problem with that is evidently there was an addition made to the blog entry after Greg linked to it.

Tapper reported Rep. Todd Tiahrt's (KS) response to that possibility:

...if you think of it in human terms, there is a financial incentive that will be put in place, paid for by tax dollars, that will encourage women who are single parents, living below the poverty level, to have the opportunity for a free abortion. If you take that scenario and apply it to many of the great minds we have today, who would we have been deprived of? Our president grew up in those similar circumstances. If that financial incentive was in place, is it possible that his mother may have taken advantage of it?

You see you don't have to go out on a limb at all. They provided the whole fucking tree!!!

Please if you don't do anything else send the link to the GOP post around to your friends and family and especially friends of yours who are of color, and especially any who lean Republican.

I am just sick and tired of them getting away with this kind of bullshit. And for once I am even also pissed off for Clarence Thomas as well. As if only black women or single white women carrying the child of a black man would ever consider abortion. Sorry muthafucka, let me stop here before I blow a damn gasket!

Because Only Minorities And Single White Women Have Abortions

This kinda shit is the reason why I have little to no respect for the GOP and that will probably never change.

Stay classy, assholes.

Boycott MSNBC

Until MSNBC gets rid of that racist, sexist, bigoted white supremecist, Pat Buchanan, I can no longer watch their network. His performance tonight on The Rachel Maddow Show was the final straw.

Its not hard at all for me to imagine Pat Buchanan cheering for the Nazis when Jesse Owens ran against them.

He must go!

Co Signed

I fully endorse everything Coates says in this post about Pat Buchanan, but especially this part:

It's amazing to me that people actually sit next to this cat, and have the balls to let the word "postracial" pass across their lips.

Just as a heads up Pat Buchanan will be on "The Rachel Maddow Show" tomorrow night.

If you agree with TNC just as I do how about tweeting some of MSNBC's on air talent and asking them why they allow him to get away with his blatant racism without saying anything.

Rachel Maddow

Carlos Watson

Contessa Brewer

David Shuster

Tamron Hall

Please hold their feet to the fire. Maybe that will inspire them to finally hold Buchanan accountable for his vile, racist, bigoted, and sexist rhetoric.

More Powell Less Palin

I am not in the habit of giving Republicans good advice, but if I were I would definitely tell them that right now they need to try to look to people like Colin Powell for guidance on how to make a comeback, not people like Sarah Palin.

Why Does MSNBC Continue To Give Pat Buchanan a Platform?

Media Matters runs down his record.

I honestly can't understand why this man is on my Tee Vee everyday.

Stay Classy Miguel Miranda.

Greg Sargent reported earlier today that former hacker in the "Memogate" scandal, Miguel Miranda, is leading an effort to pressure Republican Senators to attack Supreme Court nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor. Now Greg is reporting that Miranda has made a racist statement about black people.

Today, Miranda did a conference call with conservative bloggers organized by the Heritage foundation, where he discussed Sotomayor. Asked how Republicans could oppose her while avoiding charges of racism, Miranda said they had to wage substantive attacks. Then he segued into a discussion of the views of Hispanics on issues, saying:

“By the way, Hispanic polls, Hispanic surveys, indicate that Hispanics think just like everyone else. We’re not like African Americans. We think just like everybody else.”

I would hope that Republican Senators will be questioned about Miranda's statement IMMEDIATELY and asked if they will continue to take his calls about Judge Sotomayor. Its time to pull the veil off of this bullshit and confront the racism that still exists in this country. And ain't no time like the present.

....Said The Racist White Man.

I just had to chuckle when I saw this Jeff Sessions, talk about how sensitive we have to be about race when it comes to Supreme Court nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor this morning on Meet The Press.

Just to refresh your memory.

On its own, the case might not have been enough to stain Sessions with the taint of racism, but there was more. Senate Democrats tracked down a career Justice Department employee named J. Gerald Hebert, who testified, albeit reluctantly, that in a conversation between the two men Sessions had labeled the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU ) "un-American" and "Communist-inspired." Hebert said Sessions had claimed these groups "forced civil rights down the throats of people." In his confirmation hearings, Sessions sealed his own fate by saying such groups could be construed as "un-American" when "they involve themselves in promoting un-American positions" in foreign policy. Hebert testified that the young lawyer tended to "pop off" on such topics regularly, noting that Sessions had called a white civil rights lawyer a "disgrace to his race" for litigating voting rights cases. Sessions acknowledged making many of the statements attributed to him but claimed that most of the time he had been joking, saying he was sometimes "loose with [his] tongue." He further admitted to calling the Voting Rights Act of 1965 a "piece of intrusive legislation," a phrase he stood behind even in his confirmation hearings

One can only wonder why the king of "gotcha" moments when it comes to Democrats, David Gregory, didn't bring up Senator Sessions own racist past during the discussion today. Hmmmm....

Just Keep Digging

In a remarkable example of journalism today Monica Novotny totally PWNED Curt Levey of the "Committee For Justice" wingnut think tank. I am not sure but I believe she was quite pissed with the sexist attacks he launched against Judge Sotomayor. I have a feeling that as more white male Republicans repeat these attacks, more female cable anchors will be ripping them a new one on national Tee Vee.

Pat Buchanan Is STILL A Racist Asshole

I know I am stating the obvious but still. To call a woman of Sonia Sotomayor's accomplishment an affirmative action nominee is disgusting even by Buchanan's low standard. When will MSNBC put that old bastard out to pasture and spare the rest of us his perpetually bigoted wankery?

What Do You Know About Jeff Sessions?

The GOP has predictibly chosen Senator Jeff Sessions to take over as ranking member on the Judiciary Committee, taking over for the now defected Arlen Specter.

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) will take over the ranking member position on the Senate Judiciary Committee after striking a deal with his more senior colleagues over the weekend, sources confirm to The Hill.

Sessions and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) reached the deal that will allow the Alabama Republican to take over for Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.), whose departure from the GOP last week left the committee without a ranking member.

Under terms of the deal, Sessions will serve as ranking member until the 112th Congress, when he will take over the ranking member post on the Senate Budget Committee. Current Budget Committee ranking member Judd Gregg (R-N.H.) is retiring at the end of the 111th Congress.

Now with a battle brewing over President Obama's nomination to replace retiring Supreme Court justice David Souter I think we would do well to aquaint ourselves with Jeff Sessions and learn what kind of a guy he is. I found this post from digby to be particularly enlightening.

Sessions was U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama. The year before his nomination to federal court, he had unsuccessfully prosecuted three civil rights workers--including Albert Turner, a former aide to Martin Luther King Jr.--on a tenuous case of voter fraud. The three had been working in the "Black Belt" counties of Alabama, which, after years of voting white, had begun to swing toward black candidates as voter registration drives brought in more black voters. Sessions's focus on these counties to the exclusion of others caused an uproar among civil rights leaders, especially after hours of interrogating black absentee voters produced only 14 allegedly tampered ballots out of more than 1.7 million cast in the state in the 1984 election. The activists, known as the Marion Three, were acquitted in four hours and became a cause célèbre. Civil rights groups charged that Sessions had been looking for voter fraud in the black community and overlooking the same violations among whites, at least partly to help reelect his friend Senator Denton.

All of that's a GOP qualification for elected office in Alabama, so being rejected on that basis naturally vaulted him into the Senate. Making him the ranking member today means the Republicans will put their ugliest face forward during judicial confirmation hearings. But hey, it's their long, ongoing funeral.

Now in light of the fact that is very likely that President Obama will choose a minority and perhaps a woman to fill this post it will behoove us to make sure that this information on Sessions is out there so people can judge whatever his motivations might be should he choose to try to block this nomination. I won't even go into what it says about Alabama that they elected a guy like Sessions, but I will say that we can't allow someone whose mindset is still stuck in the pre Civil Rights era to hinder progress in this country. So get ready for the fight and arm yourself with information. I have a feeling we are going to need it.

Calling All Black Republicans

In the immortal words of Ice Cube "Here's what they think about you"

Uncle Joe's Patriotic Taxpayer

The majority of blacks pay no income tax. Why wouldn't they favor Obama's tax and spend policies? For them it is only spending.

Stay classy GOP.
