Boycott MSNBC

Until MSNBC gets rid of that racist, sexist, bigoted white supremecist, Pat Buchanan, I can no longer watch their network. His performance tonight on The Rachel Maddow Show was the final straw.

Its not hard at all for me to imagine Pat Buchanan cheering for the Nazis when Jesse Owens ran against them.

He must go!

  1. sg, boycotting MSNBC means boycotting Rachel, who just spent 12 minutes exposing Buchanan for what he is. And, frankly, further isolating the vile repuglican right - because he is clearly unhinged and will be seen as that by most Americans.

  2. Well that was fairly nauseating.

Coupla things. Buchanan's point that the constitution, much of the civil war and WWII was peopled by 100% white people (men) so therefore white folks should be specially considered for, well, anything, was oh so telling. This is what white privilege does. It discounts what Rachel rightly calls "gaming the system." Sure it was 100% but only because no one else was allowed to play. He sees that but won't acknowledge it.

Another thing. Let's say Buchanan is correct and the world has become inherently unfair to white men. To give it a timeline, let's say that this unfairness has been present for oh...say...nearly 50 years. I would say "Is that all you can stand? Try bearing it for 400 years of systemic discrimination and then we'll talk, you big girls." But that's the brat in me.

When you are doing a boycott someone who is not guilty always gets affected inadvertantly. But here is the thing, Rachel for all the good she does has looked the other way on Pat Buchanan for months now. And to be honest with you I felt like her performance last night was lacking. She allowed Pat Buchanan to spew invective without a stronger pushback because she herself admitted that she won't allow herself to believe that he is the white supremecist that he always has and always will be! She is on the same network as this guy and she is the second biggest host. Until she and everyone else can exert pressure to get Pat Buchanan off the air I am done aiding and abetting them by also looking the other way. I will just catch the podcasts.
