I am predicting must see TV, errr podcasting! Glenn Greenwald took MSNBC White House correspondent Chuck Todd to task for his appearance on Morning Joe where he adopted a right wing framing of the reprecussions for holding Bush Administration officials accountable for their actions with respect to breaking the rule of law. And now Chuckie T has accepted Glenzilla's offer to appear on a podcast with him and discuss. Simply put, its going down!

The HELP health care reform bill has passed their committee with a public option. Now just waiting on the House and Senate Finance committee versions.

Expect to hear a lot about Senator Tom Coburn's half assed racist remark to Judge Sonia Sotomayor today during her confirmation hearing, "You have a lot of 'splainin to do". I am sure it was meant in jest but as much as the GOP is trying to rake her over the coals for things she has said in the past you would think he would know better.

Lunch Break Blogging

Some quickies while the SCOTUS hearings are on lunch break.

President Obama named Dr Regina Benjamin as the new Surgeon General today.

Liz Cheney with a major assist from the Wall Street Journal is now alleging that any Democrats trying to initiate an investigation into her father's actions shouldn't be trusted with national security. I knew it was fishy when the WSJ came out with a story about an assassination ring that supposedly only targeted al qaeda leadership. Sorry but I am not buying that shit. I think they just tried to shape the story and public opinion before the real story comes out. I mean just how many people would oppose the assasination of al qaeda members?! But what if it wasn't the whole story. We shouldn't buy their story until there is some substantiation.
