Steele's Days Are Numbered

In the course of a regular daily conference call between senior Congressional communicators, House and Senate aides berated RNC staffers over Steele's comments that the GOP would not be able to take back the House, and that even if they did, the party would not be prepared to lead.

A senior Senate aide brought up Steele's comments, arguing that he was ruining what should be several days of glowing press for the GOP in the wake of retirement announcements from Sens. Byron Dorgan (D-ND) and Chris Dodd (D-CT).

"Steele is setting us far back with his comments and it needs to stop," the aide said, according to 2 sources who were on the call.

RNC research director Jeff Berkowitz called the Senate aide out of line,
but the Senate aide called Steele a "fool," sources said.

Hotlineoncall

If you think this information somehow got leaked accidentally you are crazy. Someone wants everybody to know that at least one Senate leadership aide not only thinks RNC Chairman Michael Steele is a fool but actually said so on a conference call with their peers. I don't think Steele will make it to April as head of the RNC, but after reading through this account several times I think I might be too generous with that estimate.

They Are Who We Thought They Were

The Cheneys are immoral and reprehensible people and just a piss poor sychophantic family. Nobody should expect them to ever take the high road. They have not a wit of familiarity with it.

Does The Word "Waterboarding" Give The Impression Its "Fun"

I doubt it. However that was a point that Erich "Mancow" Muller seemed to be making last night on "Countdown With Keith Olbermann". Its of course telling that every single layman who has been waterboarded confirms that its torture. Watching them get waterboarded seems to confirm to any reasonable person that its torture. But maybe there is some perception out there that "sprinkling water" on someone is not a big deal. I don't know but I do know that its been labled torture for centuries and we have prosecuted and put to death soldiers from other countries who did it to our people. Maybe it IS just a matter of messaging but I don't think it can reasonably be argued by anyone anymore that waterboarding isn't torture.

Notice that according to Mancow Sean Hannity called him and reiterated his belief that waterboarding isn't torture. Funny if he is that confident that it isn't why won't he allow himself to be waterboarded?

Rhetorical question of course.

O'Donnell Calls Out Hannity On Countdown

What can I say, Lawrence O'Donnell has been on fire of late. I don't know if he is just really offended as most of us are about the fact that we tortured the detainees or if he is just getting more aggressive in expressing his views, but O'Donnell is telling it like it is here lately and I applaud him for that. Last night he so accurately described the mentality of the Sean Hannitys of the world. Its called projection and as he said Hannity is soft and because he knows torture would work on him he thinks it would be good to do to other people. Such an utter and complete PWNING.

Now I just hope that he is on Morning Joe sometime soon to bust Joe Scarborough in the mouth with the facts.

Bonus clip of O'Donnell tearing Liz Cheney a new one yesterday after her ridiculous interview on MSNBC.
